Inspired by the legacy of the family of the last Russian Tsar, Jasmin Santanen presented her first Couture collection, “Russian Soul” during Couture week in July 2007.
The opulence and traditions of the Russian court reworked with the Parisian touch and elegance, created an extraordinary interpretation of modern glamour, that has since remained part of the signature look of Jasmin Santanen Couture.
Depicting attitudes such as the grandeur of nobility and rigor contrasting with poetic simplicity, and bohemian pride, these multifaceted iconic pieces still hold resonance with the audience today.
Tzarina Alexandra Feodorovna, the last Empress of Russia, was known for her extravagant style, showcasing her regal dresses and magnificent jewels, as she changed her outfits many times a day for different occasions. Her spectacular silk embroidered skirts gracefully descended from the corset accentuated waistlines into long trains, a silhouette revisited throughout the collection. The formal white lace gowns worn on vacation by the Empress and her daughters, translate into timeless Jasmin Santanen Couture classics.
In collaboration with atelier Lazar Cuckovic Couture, our Russian Soul collection highlights the artistry and savoir faire of Haute Couture, while respecting the cultural richness and traditions of the history of clothing. A special thank you to Solstiss lace for their support in allowing us to bring our lace designs to life as well as all the other amazing partners of the event.
